How does the cover work in Spain?
In Spain members can go directly to the Sanitas network with the Sanitas card and they do not pay anything (copayment will not be applied in the network). If the member wants to go to a doctor outside the Sanitas network, he/she can do so, paying the invoice. Then they must send the original invoice and claim form to Sanitas. Sanitas will reimburse 90% of the cost.
How does the cover work in the 2nd European country?
In the second European Country members can either use the BUPA International network or use physicians outside the BUPA network. In either case reimbursement will be 90% (not 100% in network)
Although the reimbursement is the same inside or outside the network the advantage of using the BUPA International network is that payment is made directly to the hospital or clinic. Members need only pay the 10%, the rest is paid by BUPA directly to the hospital. The member should fill out the claim form and leave it at the centre before they leave (at the same time they pay their 10% of the invoice)
Note: BUPA International only has a network for inpatient treatment.
